Bridging the Cultural Gap in Israel at a Summer Camp

Multicultural Eco Summer Camp

Maghar, Israel

Volunteer abroad with GoEcoIt was the best volunteer project I have ever participated in.

Before the project started, I was impressed by the smooth communication with GoEco and the amount of information I got as I was not used to it.

I enjoyed the time spent with the kids and the other volunteers in the summer camp. It was nice to see that by the end they were able to have short conversations with us and that they were trying to communicate and to tell us their stories. It was moving how they introduced us proudly to their parents and how they loved their siblings and cared for them.

Field trip to the Dan River Nature Reserve

The local project team was trying to prepare a really interesting program for the kids even when sometimes it was a bit disorganized. :) They all were very open and friendly and were doing their best to make us feel comfortable. I am happy that I could meet such a nice people and especially such an amazing woman as Nada.

Coexistence art class – making mosaics for peace

The welcome we received in Maghar was very warm and during our stay we felt like we were a part of our host families despite the language and cultural barriers.

The farewell was really hard and very moving.
